I Wonder If My Followers Are Medium Bots Sometimes

I don’t like looking at my stats and how many people are following me on a regular basis.

I find it stresses me out and it really doesn’t tell me how many people will actually read my writing and how many are willing to clap or comment or engage with me in some way.

I don’t really care that for every 5 people I follow 1 will follow back since my material appeals to a niche crowd anyways.

I am not expecting most of those people following me to engage with my material in any sort of way.

What I don’t like is the idea of these bots that are just following me because an algorithm told them to do so.

I noticed a pattern lately of people following me who have posted only one article within 3 days.

It’s usually a picture of someone nice and professional looking.

I never seem to get anything back ever. Every couple of days I seem to get a few of these profiles.

Maybe some of them or all of them are real people, but I did remember one writer mentioning bots and how it messes up the metrics once they are found and deleted.
