Prototype and test hydroponic methods for growing vegetables.
Problem
Global warming is the real deal. Climate change is very likely to affect food security at the global, regional, and local levels. Climate change can disrupt food availability, reduce access to food, and affects food quality. For example, projected increases in temperatures, precipitation patterns, changes in extreme weather events, and reductions in water availability may all result in reduced agricultural productivity.

Assumption
Hydroponic plants can produce a greater yield of fruits and vegetables because, in a hydroponic system, plants are more densely spaced together than the size of land needed to grow the same number of plants. Also, in a hydroponic system, many of the elements can enhance plant growth — such as the pH level of the water, nutrient content of the water, amount and type of light, etc.
Setting it up — I started experimenting with a small setup in the basement. A lot of research and Amazon shopping for types of equipment. The challenge for a hydroponic noob like me is that the knowledge is at a seedling stage. You can only learn by watching YouTubers and testing things out on your own.
Investment — I started with a small 20 sqft indoor setup that cost me an estimated $450. See example my shopping list.
