I Made a Sale within One Week of Joining Redbubble

No ads, no marketing, no promotion.

Redbubble is an amazing platform for independent artists. Those who have a serious knowledge of designing, are good at creating compelling art can do wonders on this platform.

I heard about Redbubble from the mouth of other Medium writers. Some of them were earning over $500/month from Redbubble which is crazy.

Does it sound like a side-hustle to me?

If you are wondering how I did that, let me explain that to you, but first, let’s understand what is Redbubble.

Redbubble is a global online marketplace for print-on-demand products based on designs submitted by users.

Say you created a design and uploaded it on Redbubble. You can decide which product can be sold with your design. Redbubble offers a variety of products like t-shirts, mugs, posters, phone cases, stickers, etc. You can create designs for any of these products or for all.

Assume you want to create a design for a phone case. You design your artwork and upload it on Redbubble. Make some changes and save your work.

Voila! Your design is now live.

People who are looking for phone cases can view your design and buy it if needed.

The best part of Redbubble or any other print-on-demand marketplace is, you don’t have to worry about shipping, storage, or printing designs on products yourself. You only need to upload and save your design. Everything is taken care of!

No, it’s not.

Redbubble, like any other selling platform, depends on several factors. Two of them are — consistency and how refined your keywords are. If you aren’t uploading your designs regularly, you aren’t letting the platform know more about you.

And on keywords, whatever product you are trying to sell, make sure it includes relevant keywords you want to target.

If you managed to put it well and kept on uploading designs, you can definitely achieve success on Redbubble.

I joined Redbubble on January 18 and sold my product on January 25. Note that, I didn’t do any kind of promotions on social media and never pushed any ads. It was pure organic.

Perhaps, sale within one week is too fast for a newbie, but some factors may have helped me to achieve that.

Apart from these, leverage social media. You can promote your shop on Facebook groups, Instagram, and Pinterest. I’m also planning to do that. I may be lucky this time but it’s not gonna happen always. Promotion is extremely important. But please! don’t spend on ads. They are not worth your money. Better be organic.
